Parachute Making

We have been learning about Leonardo Da Vinci.   We learnt that Leonardo Da Vinci  was also an inventor that designed parachutes and other flying machines. Room 8 decided to create our parachutes in class.   Here is Pepe holding here amazing design.

Term 3 OOohhhweee!

WE HAVE. HAD AN AMAZING START TO TERM 3.  THE BIKE TRACK HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY OPENED BY MR. HERLIHY AND MR. FAIRBAIRN, OUR HEAD  OF THE BOARAD OF TRUSTEES.  FINALLY THANK YOU TO OUR LEARNERS WHO HAVE ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN CROSS COUNTRY PRACTICE  AND THOES WHO HAVE STARTED PRACTISING FOR INTER-SCHOOL SPORTS.

New Walk Way!

Thank you to the builders who took time from their day to talk to Room 8 about the projects thats happening around the school.   The new walkway that they are building will help with easier wheel chair access from the junior syndicate to the office and carpark. 

Turbo Touch Term 2

Room 8 will be learning about turbo touch as part of our Kiwi Sport programme in Term 2 

Friday Achievement Awards

Congratulations to our Friday assembly certificate winners. This week it goes to Rangi for showing his manners in class and Scarlett for showing enjoyment during turbo touch. Well done!

Umu Experience

Room 8 has made colourful leis to celebrate Samoan language week

Pepper Experiment

Room 8 has done an experiment to show what happens when we wash our hands.  Detergent is used to show how soap repels germs.  First we added pepper to water.  Then we dipped our finger into the detergent.  Next we placed our finger into the bowl.   The pepper can be seen being pushed away from the finger.
